A wedding group is 20 riders, books 98–99 days out, rides on a Saturday 72.8% of the time, and 71.4% of the time it rides on a party bus. Past wedding quotes ran a median $1,600.

Wedding transportation is the longest-planned trip we quote and one of the most predictable. These figures come from 4,584 wedding quote requests on our own sites.

The four-hour wedding

80.1% of wedding quotes are written for four hours, a higher share than the book as a whole. The reason is that most wedding transportation is a shuttle, not a tour: hotel to ceremony, ceremony to reception, reception to hotel. The four-hour block covers two of those legs with a gap between them; the 12.2% that run six hours or more are the groups covering all three.

Size the shuttle to the wave, not the guest list

The median wedding group is 20 and the middle half runs 14 to 30, which is the 16–24 and 26–34 party bus classes. A 150-guest wedding does not need a 56-seat coach; it needs a 30-seat vehicle running a loop, sized to the largest single wave of guests leaving the hotel.

Why the lead time is three months

Weddings book 98–99 days ahead, the longest of any occasion, with the middle half between 39 and 193 days. Combine that with 72.8% of dates on a Saturday and 29% of the year in two months, and a September wedding needs its transportation enquiry in May. Wedding groups already know this: only 8.6% ask inside two weeks, the lowest last-minute share in the dataset.
